My name is Josymar Arteaga, but you can call me JOSY.

I live in Medellín - Colombia. I was born in Caracas - Venezuela, I grew up in Maracaibo, a city with a lake and a bridge. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Zulia in Graphic Design. During my career, I met the craft of illustration and graphic expressions, since then I found the best way to express my ideas, emotions, circumstances and memories, and to perceive them from a much more artistic and poetic perspective.

I consider each illustration as if they were self-portraits of my soul. Each image is a visual poem related to elements of the universe, mother nature, life,... With each work, I try to show that we are the owners of our minds, that we have the key either to let the best ideas emerge, or to learn from our experiences and to nurture our wisdom.

I love fantasy stories, sciences, adventures, biographies of explorers, scientists, artists who have managed to see life beyond what everyday shows. My greatest inspiration is the existence, both philosophically and scientifically, and how fantastic worlds and stories can be recreated from ours “realities”.
